Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, one of the daughters of musicians from Mexico was born into a family that was devoted to music. As a child, she was exposed to lots of traditional music as well as traditional Boleros. She also listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana is a lover of the operas and tangos. In addition, she is a fan of dramatic performances. Her mother taught her to sing, however she started singing with Flavio Belcerra in the age of 16 when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and young professional, she sang with many chamber groups and opera choruses from Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After 2000, she moved back to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private events and also as part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Being a teacher and a musician Ana is a dedicated participant in several community initiatives because of her love and enthusiasm for music. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged being able be able to share her love of the traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to keep this music in the present.
