Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress famous for her performance in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Born the only child to Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her showbiz career at an early age. When she was 16years old, Alexandra was able to land leading roles in several TV dramas. Her fame was due to her portrayal as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable performances, like Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning beautiful diva. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. They include the British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. She was also in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
