Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl, she moved to Oxfordshire to attend The Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. At the age of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes on singing, acting, and dancing. At the age of 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight auditions consistently, the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected to play the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film is 2001's top grossing film, breaking records during the opening day and first weekend. It was highly acclaimed by experts, and also by the performances of its three young starlets. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for the Feature Film. Emma was recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
