Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother in Los Angeles. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent received her a nomination for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. Then, she went on to play in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as The Won't Back Down (12). The other roles she's played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller), musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
